Women’s scarves – Fall-Winter 2026

A woman’s scarf has a way of changing an outfit without changing a single garment. Tied at the neck, slipped into the hair or fastened to a bag handle, it lends intention to a white shirt or a dark coat. At Soeur, it returns season after season as a 100 × 100 cm square with an iconic floral motif: the Classique scarf, reinterpreted in new colours.

Silk, cotton or wool: which scarf for each season?

Lightweight, matte cotton voile can be worn year-round and tied without slipping. For Fall-Winter 2026, the same square scarf comes in a denser wool twill that keeps the neck warm beneath a coat collar. Finer and slightly lustrous, silk is reserved for the silk scarves printed designs, kept for dressier outfits or tied around the neck over an open shirt. The colours often come in pairs, a deep shade set against a softer one, making the scarf easy to wear with the rest of the wardrobe.

How to tie a square scarf?

The simplest way is to fold the square into a triangle, with the point at the front, then tie the two ends at the nape of the neck, like a bandana. For a neater look, fold the scarf into a strip, wrap it around the neck and tie it once at the side, letting the ends fall over the shirt like a tie. Worn in the hair, the scarf can be rolled into a headband and tied at the nape, or folded into a triangle to cover the head. It can also be worn at the waist, threaded through the belt loops of a pair of trousers, or tied to the handle of a crossbody bag.

A square scarf or a longer scarf?

A square scarf is a fine piece of fabric that can be tied; a longer, thicker scarf wraps around the neck. Both have their place through winter: when the cold sets in, our wool scarves and our merino wool collars take the place of a scarf over a coat or a wool jacket. As for care, a silk scarf should be washed by hand in cold water and dried flat away from sunlight, while a cotton or wool scarf should be cared for according to its label.
